Several Qupai consist of the libretti in an opera. Writing scripts on the basis of existing Qupai or adjusting Qupai to scripts is a common procedure for drama creation.

Understanding the Qupai makes it possible to get the tonal and musical patterns in other Chinese operas involving Kun Opera, Peking Opera and so on. We can also find Qupai in the song of the Yuan Dynasty such as Drink (Yin) written by Bai Pu.

TEST: There are two excerpts from the Kun Opera shanmen and Cantonese Opera respectively. Listen and try to find the similarities in melody! Explore the explanations by pressing the button and find the scores.
